My research activities mainly ocuses on in global, continuous, non
linear optimization problems.
I am currently contributing
to gol++, a library
designed to allow the programmer to quickly design and implement of
solvers for continuous optimization problems, or tune existing general
purpose solvers to any particular problem.
I wrote an implementation of the Barziliai-Borwein gradient method
which uses filters to speed up the convergence. You can find it in the
gol++ library.
My current research activities involve spacecraft trajectory
optimization and portfolio selection problems.
I am also interested in using operational research techniques to solve
molecular conformation problems, and minimization of atomic cluster
potentials though deterministic optimization.
